Working the Weekend

It’s Saturday. The markets are closed. And I’m working.

Not because I have to. Because this is when the real building happens.

For thirty years, I’ve built Legal-Ease International on weekends like this one. While everyone else was off, I was writing curriculum, answering students across time zones, shaping the next seminar. Nobody handed me this company. I built it one Saturday at a time.

Today’s Saturday is a writing day. New projects, new pages, the work that doesn’t fit between Monday and Friday.

Here’s what I know about weekend work: it’s not about grinding. It’s about choosing. Monday through Friday, the world makes demands on your time. Clients, emails, obligations. The weekend is the only time that’s truly yours. What you do with it decides who you become.

Most people rest. That’s fine. But the ones who build something — a business, a book, a new life — they steal a few hours on Saturday and turn them into a future.

I’m not a workaholic. I’m a builder. There’s a difference. A workaholic can’t stop. A builder can’t wait.

So if you’re reading this on a Saturday morning with coffee, wondering whether to open the laptop or close it — I won’t tell you what to do. But I’ll tell you this: the thing you’re putting off is the thing that changes everything.

I’ll be here, writing.
